PIP Claim anxiety was created by Allison B
I have been on DLA since 2010 and I am about to apply for PIP because of a change of condition. I have difficulty in being confident about making a claim. I understand how hard it is and I always feel there are others who are worse off than me and I feel like I don't have things badly enough and I seem worse 'on paper' than I am in reality. Some of this is because I just get on with managing my health conditions as I have no choice. It is also a way to anticipate my future if I do not get PIP! My GP is very supportive and helped me with my DLA. I am Type 1 diabetic, I have just had a stoma after years of ulcerative colitis and incontinence, I had Pulmonary Hypertension caused by blood clots and a big operation to remove them. I have a condition which causes my blood to clot and am now on warfarin for life. I have Pancreatic insufficiency too. I know I have to explain how all that lot impacts on me but I feel very tired and despondent that I have to plead my case. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I would start by having a good read of our PIP Claim guide on the following link
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
Whilst the criteria for PIP appears similar to DLA, they are not so pay attention to the requirements for each activity.
Activities need to be completed "reliably" and on the "majority of days" not to score points, both of these terms are described in the guide.
We include a "formula" for answering the question which hopefully simplifies the process and provides a structure to your answers that will make them easier to understand by those assessing you.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help you.
