Esa in suport group and pension? was created by Margaret
Hi I have been in the suport Group ESA for three years now
I recently received a form to fill in, which my dr signed for me.
I returned the form, and have now received two seperate letters regarding my two small occupational pensions, which I have had since claiming three years ago.
Do they penalise you for this and if so how much do they allow you.
Sorry to ramble on but I am confused.
Thanks
Mashley

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
This is about the only kind of income that has any effect on contributory ESA (and I don't know why this should be). The first £85 per week of pension will be disregarded, then your ESA reduced by 50p for every further £1 of pension received.
If your pension is above the £85 limit, you might have an overpayment to deal with. Even if it is lower than this, you should still notify DWP.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about this matter without having to start a new topic each time
