Just one more thing.

Do I send the letter asking for my medical to be recorded to:

The address at the top of the appointment letter,
plus the local DWP office,
and the actual assesment centre I go to?

Last time I sent the same letter to each of the (3) addresses, all 'signed for'.
It worked but do I have to send to each address?

Advice much appreciated.

You need to send the request to Maximus at the address of the appointment letter.

This very issue was recently addressed on Radio 4's consumer programme You and Yours. They sent a researcher out in the centre of Manchester to try and obtain the necessary 'retrograde' recording equipment from specialist gadget shops - and failed! Might not change anything but I'm always reassured knowing that these issues are at least being talked about and aired in public as well as this excellent forum. Good luck!

It is PIP for which the onus is entirely on the claimant to provide the recording equipment. Some areas seem to have no problems recording ESA assessments but there are very few pieces of equipment to go round!

Oops, sorry Mrs Hurtyback! I seem to have PIP on the brain just now. Though it's probably only a matter of time before a 'one size fits all' policy will be announced.
