PIP back payment was created by Dee Greer
Hi, I was lucky enough to be awarded the enhanced rate of dailyliving and mobility, I think in a very large part it was thanks to the help and info from this site so a big thank you!! Now,however, afriend has informed that the dwp should have paid me from when my claim was recieved which was the begining of March. I was paid from the date of the award instead which was the middle of April. So I'm wondering whether to ring them and ask why but also, am I too late to ask for the other money. Am a bit stuck on what to do so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Dee,
That's great news about your PIP award! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words about B+W
Was this a new claim for PIP or a move from DLA? If it is a new claim, payment should be backdated to when you phoned and initiated the claim. If you are currently on DLA, this will continue for 1 month after the PIP decision, then the PIP award will come into effect and there will be no back payments.
If you have further questions or comments about this, please rpely to this message and we will do our best to help
