I sat in a cloud of vapour (thank God I had already stopped smoking) filling out the form, had to work on it and a OU end of module assignment at the same time. Got, I suppose, distinctions on both.
I encourage members who know people with lowish literacy skills, or illness or drug impaired concentration in this predicament to help out if they can, if they have found this site useful. Unfortunately there are some who might struggle - this is not a criticism of this site, but of a benefits system which is overly complex - if people can give their time and energy to creating this fantastic resource, I feel the least I can do is help pass on the knowledge to others. This is Mark's girlfriend/carer writing, I know Mark could not have completed this form on his own, for much the same reasons that won us the higher care component.
And props to all the other carers working on these forms, it's not an easy task. Some of these questions are horrible to answer. I hope you all have people who appreciate you. I appreciate you. You're great.
