Missed Call was created by Andrew Gray
Hello
I got a call today at about 08:10 am. I answered it but did not speak and the line stayed silent from the other end. I then hung up and was called back immediately but did not answer the phone. I did 1471 and it said the call came from network that does not transmit numbers. About 1 week ago I sent in the ESA50 form by way of renewal application as I have been on ESA for 3 years now. Does anyone know for sure if the DWP calls from numbers that leave the 1471 message that that network does not transmit numbers or would it have been some entity other than the DWP? I think another way to put it would be to ask if the DWP always leaves a number they can be called back on if you do 1471?
Thanks in advance

I think the majority of DWP calls have the number withheld but this sounds far more like a call from a marketing company, the calls are made by a computer and are not supposed to be made unless an operator is available to take the call, but we regularly get them, you pick up, the line is silent and then disconnects after about 5 seconds. The DWP don't use this type of system.
