First Medical Capita even though I've had one was created by WishPositivity
Hi All ,

I'm new here sp hi to all ,
I was hoping for any information
I already had a medical at my home 10 months ago the reason being was because it moved from DLA to PIP ,
I passed and was told I didn't need to apply again until 2018 ,
However not long after moving home I now have to have another medical with capita and at a local library (small villages) ?

I find it weird because I've read so many people saying that they had a home visit appointment yet I've been told to attend an appointment ,
when they clearly know i suffer mild agraphobia and will only go out if it's in the car and I don't get out, and usually have medicals (always had them with ATOS this is my first one with capita)

I also haven't long had a car crash another person drove into us and I have damaged tissue in my right arm and I'm suffering bad panic attacks ,
I'm in the middle of cancer tests as my mother has breast cancer and they want to check I'm a carrier of some gene ,

This medical couldn't come at a worst time

Am I able to book at a later date ?
Any thoughts on this ?

Thanks In advance

It would be unusual for the DWP to reassess you so early, did you receive a new PIP2 to complete?

You say this is your first assessment with Capita, who assessed you when you were moved from DLA to PIP, as far as I am aware the postcode allocations have not changed so if it is Capita now, then I would have expected it to be Capita before.

If you want a home assessment then you will need your GP to write and explain why you cannot attend at their offices.

If this is the first appointment then you can cancel it and rearrange it for another date, but you will then need to attend that one, whenever and wherever it is arranged for or you risk your claim being closed. I would not expect them to move it back more than three weeks.
