RECORDING YOUR PIP MEDICAL was created by Laura
My partner and I have painstakingly filled out his PIP Questionnaire and it was sent back to the DWP. Some three weeks letter he has been sent a letter requesting a face to face assessment. I would like to record the assessment but the guidance on the Atos website and the DWP website is so loose and none specific that I cannot decide what equipment is needed.
Is there who has recorded their assessment? Does anyone have any links for equipment that I would be allowed to take in with me? It states two identical copies are needed, you can produce two identical copies on a digital recorder are these not allowed as the guidance seems to imply?
Any help would be gratefully receieved.
Thank you in advance,
Laura x

You need to get written permission from the Assessment Provider.
You must be able to make two recordings at the same time, you cannot use a digital recording device, the recordings must be made directly to tape or CD, you should be able to find a couple of cheap cassette records on Amazon or EBay.

Hi Laura,
I had my PIP medical recorded, using two cassette recorders bought from Ebay. They were Omega VAS machines, sold by electromartuk2000 for £17 each. They work well, and certainly keep the HPs mind concentrated on the task in hand.
Make sure you buy decent quality cassette tapes - TDK or BASF are good, and, more importantly, take someone with you to the medical and get THEM to operate the machines, not you.
Good luck with your medical.
