ESA telephone call was created by Ann
I have been on Incapacity Benefit, then ESA since 1992. Three years ago I was transferred to ESA Support Group without a ftf. In February I received an ESA 50 which I returned and had a ftf just over 6 weeks ago. On Friday I received a phone call from the DWP making an appointment to ring me on Tuesday afternoon. They said there is a backlog of claims in my area and some claims including mine have been sent to a new area for decision making. Apparently a decision maker will go through the questions and answers from my ftf, giving me the chance to add anything if I wish and I will be given a decision there and then. I haven't heard of this happening before. Is it significant or anything to worry about. I suffer from anxiety, so am very concerned about this.

I'm afraid the most usual reason for the DWP calling a claimant after an ESA assessment is because they have been found Fit for Work, the call is because the Decision is marginal and the DM is calling to make sure that there is no information that has been missed or misunderstood. I would prepare a short bullet list of reasons why you meet the ESA Descriptors and keep this by the phone.

I hope I am wrong and the call is to tell you that you have been put in the Support Group, it does happen but not very often.
