I will be sure to do this. I did actually do this in my mandatory reconsideration but it was ignored.
I have noticed a lot of other topics mention getting the assessor's report, is this the same as the "My Decision" that is sent out with the award letters or is this something I need to specifically request?
Do you think this would help?
Carl

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Carl,
The decision maker's reasoning is a precis of the assessor's report, the report itself is in much more detail. It is often helpful to see this report as it can give a much better idea of how/why your claim failed.
DWP do not send these out automatically but usually dispatch them quite promptly on request. You can phone and ask, but we usually suggest that you also follow it up in writing.

Thanks for all the advice.
I have got everything now and I am ready to go.
Just one last piece of information I need.
Whilst you are waiting for the appeal, do you still get paid your initial claim?
Thanks
