Sars report whats it for ? was created by sha1971
been trying to find out details of my new pip award now definatly lost in post , they can send a copy of what im entitled to , but not what points i got or length of award etc , would it be worth filling in a subject access report thingy so i can find out details of my award descion etc , been looking on the guides but cant find anything about sars, cheers sharon

You should be able to get a copy of the decision letter sent to you and, for PIP, this includes the length of award. You should also be able to get a copy of the assessor's report if you have not already got one.

A SAR request is usually made for historical documents or for all the paperwork associated with your claim. There is no reason why you shouldn't do this.

Requesting a Subject Access Request (SAR) :

Or you can make the request in the form of a letter, as long as you make it clear that you are making a formal SAR under The Data Protection Act 1998.

Address the envelope : FAO The Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your PIP.

Write DPA 1998 SAR in front, top, left corner of envelope.

Once received, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Sending Documents to the DWP.

Sorry to butt in, but is there a £10 fee the same as a SARN request to a bank ?

oh and when should i have backdated date from do you think ? i was going to say nov 2014 as im sure ive read they dont keep any more details or records older over 2 years old , is that correct , cheers sharon
