ESA Decision? was created by Ida
I have been on ESA since 2014, last year in July I wrote them a letter to see when I would be invited for an assessment. Appointment came through after two weeks and I had my assessment on August 10, 2016. This is now 3 months ago and I still have no decision. When I rang beginning of October I got told my assessment report was 'audited' Have heard nothing since, and don't dare to ring them as when I did that in October it cost me £18, as they keep you on hold for ages. Getting worried now and am afraid I will have to go for another assessment?

Hi Ida and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Most ESA claims are decided quite quickly at the moment. However, when we hear of delays, they do seem to be considerable!

Even with your report being audited, I would still have expected you to have heard by now. It is possible that your claim has been decided but the letter has somehow gone astray.

I can understand your reluctance to phone DWP but they are the people who know what is happening!

The only other thing I can suggest is to get your MP involved

Contacting your MP

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
