PIP Appeal was created by Sainty
I have received the DWP paperwork for my appeal, the decision maker has stated that I said that I hadn't received a proper examination and the Health professional had insufficient knowledge of my condition. I never made any comment with regard to the assessor so have no idea where this has come from. I made my appeal in writing and I have never spoken to anyone from the DWP., so have proof that I never made this comment. The assessor states that I bent to put my handbag on the floor and bent to pick up a folder from my handbag. I purposely took a large shopping handbag with me which I put on the floor beside me after sitting and this required no bending, the file was inside the bag and I was able to reach it without the need for me to bend, so this comment is incorrect. How should I handle this at the appeal?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
The Tribunal panel will be far more interested in hearing from you about your problems and will put less weight on the assessor's report. However, it if does come up during your hearing, you should explain in a similar way to you did here.
I don't know whether you used our PIP guide when filling in your PIP2 form? If not, it would be worth while reading through it now so that you are clear about how/why you believe you should have scored points against the descriptors.
PIP help for claimants
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too
