WON! was created by mamagill
I just wanted to say a massive Thank you for all the help and advice on this site. I first applied for PIP in June 2014, didn't get my assessment until April 2015 and as I was 'well groomed', I was given a big fat zero on both. I appealed and was rejected again so I took it to a tribunal who awarded me 2 points in total. I appealed to the Upper Tribunal as on the paperwork I realised that they had 'erred in law' The UT agreed. This was back in December. I have just had my appeal at the First tier Tribunal again and WON!!! The Doctor was more sympathetic as was the judge and the representative. The DWP sent someone down to sit in and his questions were contradictory and the judge more or less told him so.
I was awarded standard rate for personal care. I scored 4 points for mobility so did not get the award but I can still take this to my GP who can sign & support my application for a blue badge. My hip is getting worse so I am going to submit a new application for mobility, as it had to be based on the assessment 18 months ago.
At times I have felt like giving up but that is what they wanted which spurred me on.
THANK YOU
