Failed ESA: Do I claim JSA while I appeal etc??? was created by Rayland7
Hi, I failed the assessment for ESA, found fit for work, didn't get enough points but heartened by test on this website that I [should] easily pass! The person that phoned & questioned me and told me I didn't get enough points next offered to put me through to someone so that I could claim JSA whilst I appeal and so on.... the thing is if I claim JSA will this balls up my claim/appeal for ESA??? If I claim JSA as I falling into the trap of saying I am fit for work
I did ask her this but I don't trust them and need someone to confirm that I should claim JSA, I've been lied to so many times and they're getting up some really dodgy stuff these days. Now awaiting a letter from which I believe I ask for a reconsideration - then onto appeal.
Thank you for any advice

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Your claiming JSA at this time will not have an Impact on any MR or appeal that might make, at this time you are officially Fit for Work and JSA is the only benefit available to you at this time.
If you do claim JSA then once your claim has been accepted and not before, you can present a new Fit Note and be excused from any Job Search requirement for up to 13 weeks.
