Hi Max and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work Home assessments will follow the same form as those carried out in an assessment centre. Have a look at the guide for the relevant benefit (you don't say which it is) and it will explain what to expect.
It is up to you to decide which room the assessment is held in and who you have with you.
You do not have to make any special preparations - you don't even have to get up if you would not usually do so.
The assessor has the same rights as any other guest in your home, they do not have the right to 'snoop' around - and nor have we ever heard of them asking to do so.
A final word of warning - the assessors have been known to turn up on time, early, late - or not at all.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
