Not been on here for a while so hope everyone is ok. So on with my question and not sure if this is the right forum??
Since the end of October I have been very poorly with my COPD Diabetes and Asthma. Paying several visit's to the Doctor more steroids antibiotics.. You get my point so after a lengthy discussion with my GP and of course my husband we are seriously considering a move to a warmer climate..I have left the house perhaps a dozen times since October and my depression is very bad right now..knock on effect.I feel trapt in my own home!
Reading several articles it is a bit confusing and conflicting to say the least. My question is would I still be able to receive my PIP? I get the higher rate of both components, I will be 64 in July and will receive my state pension. The combined SP of my husband and mine plus the PIP would be enough for us to live on
Sorry if this is the wrong forum but DWP say I can only live there for 26 weeks but an expat forum which deals with benefit's abroad say if you are aged between 16 - 64 then you are allowed it. My PIP is awarded to the end of 2022
I hope someone can help. TIA

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I'm afraid this is not an area of benefits that we advise on.
The 26 weeks is in regard a temporary absence for medical treatment.
Have a look at the following for more information and contact information for the DWP.
