Hi, I am in a desperate situation. I was awarded DLA indefinitely some Six years ago. Two days after last Christmas 2016, I received a form saying my DLA will be ending and to ring up before 18th January. I will be 68 this year. I have complex medical conditions and I am at my lowest ebb ever. The letter from DWP was posted 1st class on December 21st. How could they! I spent Christmas alone as my daughter had Norwalk virus and because I now have a pituitary condition and need regular hydrocortisone, I could not go near her . This is the latest disease for me and is still being investigated. The was suicidal before Christmas and my GP was very worried about me. I saw her last week and showed her the letter. She was annoyed to say the least and she said she could not understand why I had received this as she dealt with people over 65 in this area, two years ago. If I have to go through all this again it will badly affect my health as the adrenal condition means that I have to stay away fro disease and stressful situations as much as possible. I was supposed to get a new car in February but have cancelled it. I don't feel as though I can carry on with all this. I did ring DWP the other day and it took me 55 minutes to get through. My friend was going to help me but after half an hour had to go. Answered usual stupid questions and afterwards felt so ill. Happy new year to all at the DWP and I hope they had a lovely Christmas sending out these forms. I won't survive this and my GP knows..

I am afraid that all DLA claimants who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 are being transferred to PIP, there is no way to avoid this.

Please have a look at our PIP Claim guide

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hoping it is OK to reply
It the age 65 April 2013 that was on my mind/ I am aware it is in the 'rules'
'
''Personal Independence Payment (PIP) which replaces DLA for people of working age. ''gov quote.
It is ridiculous and cruel to do this' I do not know if there is forum or petitions I suspect not and I am not well nor comp savvy working age for women now State Pension is 63+1/2
It is not a working age benefit here at 60++ it is just a cost cutting stress making policy MV
Good Luck and again thanks B+W

I'm afraid PIP is not described as a working age benefit.

This is a done deal, the chance to protest it passed years ago.
