Dentists and Prescrition charges was created by ccactus
As I have previously stated, I am at present in limbo as to what benefit I am on, having just being awarded nil points at assessment (I have forwarded sick note and reapplied for esa) not hopefully! Also mand rec submitted. My question is as:- I am not in receipt of any benefit at the moment official, how do I go on at the dentist(I have app tomorrow and also have to pick up a prescription) do I pay, or do I tick that I am esa/jsa. Don't want to do anything illegal.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You are not in receipt of ESA at the moment, so you cannot tick the box to say that you are.
You will have to pay for your dental treatment this time, I'm afraid. I suggest that you get a receipt and the costs can be refunded if you later get an award of income-related ESA. Alternatively you can apply for help with costs on the grounds of low income - you will need an HC1 form (if I remember correctly)which you should be able to get from a pharmacy or GP surgery.

You can down loada HC1 form here
www.nhs.uk/Healthcosts/Documents/HC1%20Front%20Page.pdf
If you have to have Dental treatment or prescriptions before you recieve an HC2 which exepts you from charges get official NHS receipts for any money paid and ask on HC1 to start any HC2 from date of first receipt.
