DLA to PIP help was created by logan tom
Hi everyone.
Just a quick one. I am currently on DLA but expect PiP soon. The problem I have is l have COPD emphysema, and Bronchiatasis, my consultant has discharged me back to my GP,because he has taken me as far as he can, medication keeping me going. I also have mental health problems, but seen physicatrist and counsellors and l couldn't hack it, so signed back to GPs, although my doctor is great with me and backs me 100% would l need to have letters of consultant, physicatrist. Or does everything now come via my GP.

DLA claimants are being chosen at random so it could still be some time before you are invited to claim PIP.

I would recommend that you have a talk with your GP about the best way to support you when you are asked to claim PIP, they may have ideas about the best way to approach the issue, but before you do this it would help if you have a read of the PIP Claim guide so that you understand the criteria against which you will be assessed as this is very different from DLA.
