Who looks into claims for AA, what I imagine is the older generation who get refused PIP even after an appeal would probably try to get AA

New claimants over 65 have to claim AA.

Yes I know over 65's who have not made a previous claim for DLA or PIP have to claim AA. What I mean is those claimants who are over 65 and who have not made a successful claim for PIP would no doubt go and try to claim AA but who actually looks into the claim for AA is it the same people that look into the claims for PIP. After all you have to be over 65 to claim for AA.
It was stated, how true that was, that the government would be debating the future of AA, what they are intending is anybodies guess!

I believe that ATOS still have the contract for AA, but I can't confirm this.
I read something last week that suggested that the Government had shelved their plans for AA.

It's good news for now but, given the history of this kind of situation, it wouldn't surprise me to see this idea, or a variation of it, refloated some time in the future.

Please excuse me for butting in, apologies if it is not appropriate, but this news has really cheered me up. Am one of the over 65 year olds still on D.L.A. I was 65 before April 2013 so as yet am not affected by the changes, but keeping alert and up to date with all the information. It stands to reason as the government is doing away with D.L.A. they are not going to run two benefits, P.I.P. and D.L.A. so am expecting that they will do something with all us oldies eventually. At least if all else fails A.A. is still there.
