Pip Denial Help pls was created by Glen49bc
I applied for mt 2nd PIP award and it has been stopped. I had a very young lady out to assess me in Nov from Capita. It states in the report 'on physical examination you have been seen to walk 20 metres and up the stairs'. Yes I did manage to walk up the stairs to show the young lady my medication. In no way can I walk 200 metres as she has suggested.
I showed her report letter from CMHT ( Crisis Mental Health Team ) where was admitted after attempting suicide due to depression and couldnt cope. I have to go into mental health hospital at end of Feb for 2 weeks. I showed her the letter, but she did not take any interest. I have no one to help me unless I ask and I have to pay them to wash my hair and back.
They have totally dismissed my mental health problems and moving about. I rang the PIP helpline on 18th Jan to ask for MR, and had the results today, 26th Jan. I havent had time to get GP letters etc to support my claim.
What can I do please

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Glen,
I'm sorry you are going through this
You have several options now -
You can submit your additional information, explain that you were not given time to do so before the MR was undertaken and ask DWP to do another MR.
You can accept that the chance of MR being successful is low and move on to appeal.
You can draw a line under this claim and reapply.
Whatever you do the PIP guide will explain the process.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
