ESA Assessments was created by John
My daughter has been receiving ESA for several years (support group) and, on reapplying, has suddenly been called for a Health Assessment.

What does this mean? Why has she been called? What can I expect? (I will be with her). How should I handle this? Are they trying to get out of paying her ESA?

The last time your daughter was assessed it would have been done by ATOS, it now Maximus who are doing the assessments and they have different policies.

Each assessment looks at the claimants problems at a point in time and it is unusual for those assessing to look at previous reports so they are unlikely to be aware that no face to face was required the last time, but even if they did the decision to require a F2F Is primarily down to the information in and with the ESA50.

Lastly, if your daughter qualified last time under the Substantial Risk rules then the guidance in this area has been updated in the last year and this may also have prompted the need to see her.

The ESA Claim guides have a section at the back that covers the assessment and the questions likely to be asked during the interview.
