ESA renewal was created by Bobbi
Hi

I hope you don't mine answering what probably has been asked many times.

My 62 year old husband is currently in the support group for ESA. This was after an initial award of WRAG but on appeal he was put into the support group.

He suffers from severe arthritis, progressive sensors/motor atonal peripheral neuropathy which since the initial award 2 years ago has progressed to the extent he wears splints 18/24 and has minimal feeling in his hands which leads to constant injury. Same with his feet. He's also got depression and anxiety and suffers constant pain.

We are both really worried as this form came in out of the blue. We just weren't expecting it. We had a super supportive GP last time who wrote countless letters of support. Our current GP while great, I just don't know how she will be with support letters.

Is there anything I need to know and will need to do to ensure that his ESA will continue and that he will be put back into the support group.

Thanks in advance

Ari

I'm afraid all ESA claims are reassessed on a regular basis.

All you can do is complete the ESA50 in as much detail as possible and supply evidence in support of the claim as you can, even if it was sent before.

Please make sure you use the current ESA Claim guides, there have been changes to the DWP guidance over the last year that you may need to be aware of.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
