SDP and contribution based esa was created by johnnyblackjack
Hi can anyone help,
i am in receipt of contribution based esa with a income related top up of 36 pounds i have recently been awarded pip at enhanced for both rates. DWP sent me a form about claiming SDP i live alone and no one gets CA for me. When i rang dwp today they said they need to send another form for me to fill in but were vague as to what information they required except about my income and who lives with me. i filled one short form in asking who lives with me etc as anyone any idea as to what this new form is about i never asked for the first form, would i be better letting my niece claim carers allowance it confuses me

First of all, don't assume the information you have received about another form is correct, it's not unusual to get different answers to the same question every time you phone the DWP :(

It could be an ESA3, but as you are already receiving ESA(IR) I can see no reason why this would need to be issued. The ESA3 captures information about your financial situation.

SDP is paid to you, CA would be paid to your niece only, she would need to be able to provide a minimum of 35 hours of care a week and must not earn over £110 per week.
