We were rather surprised by a letter arriving for my husband saying that his DLA award is stopping and he has to re claim for PIP. My husband is 68 years old as a number of medical problems and also had an indefieiant award for care and mobility at the highest rate. We were under the impression that he would be able to stay on the DLA as he was over 65 years when the PIP component was brought in, as there been a change to the rules again or is it we misunderstood ? his date of birth is the 20th March 1949. Can you just clarify this for us. Thank you Jan

All claimants who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 will be transferred to PIP even if they are over the age of 65 when invited.
