"Preparing for your ESA medical assessment
The service will phone you to arrange a date and time for the assessment. If you’d rather be contacted in a different way, you can let the Health Assessment Advisory Service know by emailing them, or you can get someone else to call them for you and let them know you’d prefer to be emailed.
Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Telephone: 0800 288 8777
When they contact you, the service will also tell you which of their centres you need to go to for your assessment.
If your illness or disability makes it difficult or impossible for you to travel to an assessment, you can ask for the assessment to be done at home instead. Tell the Health Assessment Advisory Service when they call – they’ll ask you to provide information from your doctor, or other medical professional, to explain why you can’t travel."
I don't like talking on the phone and I avoid answering my landline.
I was informed that June 2015 was my next due date for an ESA WCA assessment. I must have been on the deferral list for 2 yrs as 2013 was my last assessment.
I have some questions
1)Do they not send out ESA50 forms anymore?
2)If I get someone else to phone, will this trigger an assessment, as I hope they call me much later than June 2017, I need more time.
3)I am too unwell to travel by train, (to the nearest assessment centre to me) due to panic, my medical professionals don't seem to understand that I cannot travel by train, what if they refuse to provide supporting evidence to demonstrate I cannot travel by train.
thanks in advance.

Whilst the bulk of the information in the CAB document is correct, the fundamental problem is that Maximus do not phone (at least in the majority of cases) to arrange the appointment!
Maximus will send you a written invitation to the appointment, in fact they are legally required to do this.
To answer your questions.
1. A new ESA50 should be issued
2. Phoning to ask when you will be reassessed will not trigger an assessment.
3. A home assessment will be granted if it is clear from the information in and with your ESA50 that you cannot attend Maximus's offices. If one is not offered then you will only get one by your GP writing to Maximus explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.

Many thanks for reassuring me that Maximus do not phone to arrange an assessment and that they are required by law to do it.
Thanks also or confirming the ESA50 will be issued and that phoning them to ask when you will be reassessed will not trigger an assessment.
Do you mean, phoning the DWP for a prognosis date, or actually ringing Maximus.
Sory for the extra question.
Thanks also for the home assessment information, when the time draws near, I will ask for a home assessment, or if they refuse, I will ask my GP, and if he refuses, I will ask someone to come with me to the f2f.

I am in the same situation as you, I was due to be re-assessed in April 2015, still waiting, I have rang 3/4 times to ask when, was told they do not know, none of these calls triggered an assessment form.
I foolishly completed an on line esa50 form, january of that year, and since then there have been changes. I am just going to wait, I have all the medical reports and letters ready, which is half the battle, so try not to worry too much

Hi Raphael
It's good that you are still waiting for an assessment, as you are still receiving the money you need while you wait.
Do you mind me asking, what made you complete the online esa50 when you were not sent one in the post. What year did you complete the esa50 online-2015?
I'm struggling to get the correctly worded evidence, but SCOPE's benefit specialist has written me an email that I can show my psychiatrist that specifically worded evidence is needed, so, hopefully, he will write me a good letter of evidence allowing me back into the support group under reg 35 2 a and b.
