6.30 Woke patient and turned off CPAP machine got patient up and dressed. Left 8.30 arrived 9.45. Dragged all medication equipment etc in suitcase, walked assisting patient to assessment centre (no parking nearby) patient urgently needed the toilet (public) which was full of people on drugs and alcohol. This was distressing as disabled toilet locked and they were laying around the cubicles. Arrived in time to assessment. Was told nurse had been called away urgently so either make another appt or wait till 11am. Patient got stressed started fitting and had to use his Cpap/nebuliser machine. He got so bad that the receptionist spoke to a nurse, took copies of 43 pages of medical evidence which the patient had brought with him, checked his tablets and sent him home. Stating a home visit should have been necessary could not believe the patient had to come all that way. It was stressed that the original application requested a home visit but was refused. Phoned assessment centre the day the appointment was received requesting a home visit but once again was denied this? So Requested a plug point for the machine be available which was ok. The stress that this has caused the patient was unbelievable. Now left up in the air as to what is happening next.
