Regarding the engaging with people question, I was awarded no points in the HCPs report. The reasons given were that ..I had a partner..managed at the assessment..and that I talked on the phone to a friend. The talking to a friend part was entirely made up by the HCP....I'm actually very isolated and don't have any friends.
Does having a partner mean a person can engage with others face to face, and therefore should score no points? I've always been awards points for prompting before.
The decision was changed by the DM during the phone call and I was awarded points for prompting again. But I'm curious about the regulations.
Although the Descriptors do not use the word "socially" their intention is to look at the claimants ability to interact with other people in a social situation, talking to a partner certainly does not come under this heading and I don't see how a phone call can be construed as engaging "face to face".
