It's all been rather quiet for me after submitting my ESA claim form in March 2016! I was given a date in December 2016 for a face-to-face medical assessment, which I cancelled as I was waiting for a date for neurosurgery. I have now received a new date for March and having completed the letter requesting that my assessment be recorded, I am wondering if I could also request that my assessment is carried out by a doctor? I had such a horrendous time with my PIP claim, which thanks to B&W I successfully won my appeal, due to the sheer incompetence on the so called health professional that did the assessment in my home. My chronic medical conditions are rare and complex, which have even caused problems when attending A&E locally. The stress of the whole situation can feel too much yo bare.
I'm afraid you can't request a doctor, the DWP view is that all assessors are capable of carrying out an ESA assessment. That doesn't mean that you will not be assessed by a doctor, Maximus may decide they need to use one for your interview.
