Perhaps the easiest thing would be if you put your information in to one of the online benefit calculators.

This is my dialema. I was under the impression that I needed to have an element of ESA(IR) to claim the premiums which I currently don't have, just ESA(CB) SG
for both of us. so I am totally confused.

As I explained previously, your entitlement for ESA(IR) will be calculated on the basis of you receiving the Premiums if you are eligible for them, they will then look at whether your household income, savings and assets and hours that a partner works would prevent the payment of the ESA(IR).
I believe you mentioned a pension, so this will be deducted £ for £. If you have any other income then this will also be deducted. If the net amount of ESA(IR) is less than your current ESA(CB) payments then the ESA(IR) won't be paid, if it is still more then the difference will be paid.

We are both on ESA(CB) SG
We both receive PIP standard care, high mobility
which if I understand correctly makes me elegible for premiums
neither of us work
pension of £30 pw
no other income
no savings over £6000
no other assets
so calculation
ESA(CB)SG + premiums less £30 pension equals entitlement ?
sorry if I am still being dumb, I have submitted ESA3 but came back no different so need to know if I have to fight.

Based on what you have posted this is what I calculate
£114.85 - Couples Personal Allowance
£ 36.20 - Support Group
£ 22.60 - Couples Enhanced Disability Premium
£123.70 - Couples Severe Disability Premium
=======
£297.35
-
£218.60 - 2 x ESA(CB) SG
=======
£ 78.75
-
£ 30.00 - Pension
=======
£ 48.75
=======
My guess is that they are not taking the SDP into account.
