Good afternoon,

I was looking for a bit of advice in a language i can understand, today i rec a letter about my claim for ESA it reads as follows

from 10th April 2017 benefits rates may change
from 15th April 2017 my ESA will be £109.65
from 2nd December 2017 your ESA will be £119.65

My quick questions are why do they make you wait until December this year to help with £10 a week extra which is a huge help?

Is there extra money that can be added to this benefit for people who are severly disabled?

Thank you in advance

Hi Jacq,

The December payment includes the £10 Christmas bonus.

Claimants who are in receipt of income related ESA (even if only 1p top-up) might also be entitled to ESA premiums.
