The letter that Atos send PIP applicants informing them when their consultation interview will take place has a FAQ section on page 4. It tells applicants that they can get a copy of their consultation report by contacting the DWP on 0345 850 3322. That is a very busy number and callers are held in a queue for quite a while before being put throught to someone. It is not a free number.
Why don't the Health Professionals simply ask applicants at their interview if they want a copy of their consultation report, note the response and deal with it from there?
The current system is a complete waste of time and money for applicants making the calls, and it is also a grossly inefficient use of DWP telephone lines.

A great idea, so unlikely to be implemented.
