I had a PIP assessment this week and the assessor seemed very keen to record on how many steps (or flights of) to get into my home although I hadnt claimed any related impairment except a limited walking ability ( well beyond 20 metres and over 100 ) and I think they only assess flat level walking ability anyway. The other thing was they said they had read everything I'd sent (and I had the impression they really had ) and I think they wanted to fill in the gaps (and no doubt also to test the consistency of PIP2) When they send the report to the DM does the DM in practice rely mainly on the assessment report at that stage or in detail look at all the evidence including PIP2. It was a OK assessment but at one point they said would you say about 3 days per week. I didnt put myself as 3 days for anything in my form and I kept to my previous position of 4 plus. I think it 'might' be that the assessor would have liked to been able to make their report more agreeable or less easily sent back for reworking it or whatever they call it. I think if its 3 days a week that could make them say its less than 50 per cent of the time on reliability and unless it was dangerous less than 50 percent it would nt count. Something like that. Odd though about the steps. Couldnt see the relevance

XFACTOR
I agree the references to three days are all about making it not on the majority of days.
I do remember a DM trying to argue that walking up a staircase was the equivalent of walking 70m, perhaps they were thinking along the same lines.
DM's see the assessors report as their primary piece of evidence, they will look at it all, but if there are discrepancies between the two they will favour the assessor.

Thank you Gordan It is just as well I know what 3 days would be translated as. I thought it went well with perhaps that as the only single example of potential trickery that I could perceive. I don;t even remember now what activity it related to but knew I had not put that period in my pip answers. The also wanted to nknow whether my diagnoses were by GP or a Consultant. The implication being that a GP diagnoses might not suffice
though they didnt say so it was clear they wanted to be able to justify their report one was or the other and it seemed relevant to them
