Hi. i have had three operations for prolapse disc and two dural tears. i have been diagnosed with lumbar stenosis and further prolapsed disc. i have to have a lumbar spine fusion in two weeks, At the moment i am struggling with my mobility due to the pain. i have been considering claiming pip but get concerned with all the people having problems. i have a letter from my consultant diagnosing lumbar stenosis and the severe problems i have with walking that is why he recommends the operation. Recently my husband who is on the high rate of pip for living and mobility claimed esa on contribution based earnings, but it was so stressful he withdrew his claim. do you think i have a claim for pip and if so should i put it through now or after my operation. sorry for long post don.t know much about benefits
PIP Mobility for physical problems is all about the distance that you can walk, your walking needs to be restricted to 50m or less for you to have any chance of an award.
Have a look at our PI Claim guide for more information about the criteria you will need to meet.
