Welcome to Benefits and Work I'm afraid that all DLA claimants who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 will be invited to claim PIP as a replacement for their existing DLA award.
I can't say whether you husband will receive an award for PIP, but if they don't apply his DLA claim will still be closed.
