Could I get some advice please ,I was on dla for which I got the higher rate mobility ,but over the years my health has deteriorated badly ,I rang the dla and they sent me the form to fill in for pip ,the form had tone back by the 12th of May 2017 which it was ,I was awarded enhanced rate on both parts .but my first payment they gave me was 7th August ,but should I have got back pay for the care component from May as I did not get any care rate at all when I was on dla thank you

I'm afraid not! There is no backdating of a PIP award where it replaces an existing DLA one, even if the claimant has notified the DWP of a deterioration in their conditions.
