Please can someone help me. Sadly l have had to take medical retirement after a rare illness. It was deemed by consultants etc l will not be able to work ....should this not put me into support group automatically?

I'm afraid not, ESA has specific criteria that need to be met in order for a claimant to receive an award. See our ESA Claim guides for more information.

Thank you Gordon for your reply. l have always been lucky enough to be able to work .....until now. Trying to sort out benefit entitlement is the most frustrating/complicated thing l have ever had to deal with.
