You don't say which benefit this relates to - if it is ESA then your only option for money would be to claim JSA.

No it will remain in payment until a Decision is made on your MR.
If you are requesting a Late MR then you will also need to include your reasons for the request being late.

Today i received a letter offering a late mandatory reconsideration - not my choice, though, as was worried about losing my current award.
Then it is up to you whether ask for an MR or not, but you will have problems providing new evidence if you think that you need it given the time since the Decision was made.
