how long does it take to get a decision from and do you get a letter it is now into my 7th week can you please update me on this

If you have had an assessment then we would expect a Decision in about 2-4 weeks, so if it is now 7 weeks from the interview then I would recommend that you contact the DWP for an update.
They will write to you with details of the Decision.

hi gordon i phoned them last week and they said a decision was imminent but still no letter i heard sometimes that they phone you instead of a letter is that right i dont want to keep phoning them can you please help thanks

I would not expect them to phone unless it is a failure and not always then. Decisions have to be notified in writing so there will always be a letter.

i for got to say i had been diagnosed with COPD after my medical and told them on phone so i dont know if this is why it is taking so long thanks

It's not impossible that they have returned the report to Maximus to take account of the new diagnosis.
We're not aware of any specific delays in the Decision making part of the ESA process.
