ESA or IS was created by Redfraggle
I applied for ESA in February 2016 and received 0 points after a horrible rushed f2f in November 2016. I appealed the decision at the beginning of this year and then I requested a hearing at tribunal. I have received the paperwork through but have been advised by an independent person who works for DWP that I should stay on IS until my child turns 5 years of age but I'm worried that I may have to look for work if I'm claiming ESA and my postcode area is changing people to UC in February so will I have to claim UC in a year's time instead of ESA which will be at a lower rate? Please help!
NB I have been awarded standard care for PIP which has resulted in my IS being upgraded to severe disability as I live alone with my 3 year old
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
You would be best advised to get face to face advice from a trained advisor. You need someone who can calculate what you might receive on each benefit and can explain how future changes to benefits might effect you.
Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town of county.
