requesting medical reports was created by reds123
hi mods, i recently had my assessment for dla to pip and was assessed at a local center and the hcp who done the assessment said he had received quite a substantial amount of evidence with my claim i did forward quite a few reports i felt were relevant and may help my claim my wife asked if they had received the report back from my gp which they requested and he said yes but my gp only received the report the day prior to my appointment and had allocated time to complete it some 6 days later, my question is will the hcp make a recommendation without the gp report or will capita wait until they receive it before making a recommendation to the decision maker, it has now been 2 weeks since my ftf so if i request a copy of all reports they used to decide my claim will they send me the gp report too even if they never used it to make a decision , should i wait for the decision letter before requesting the reports ? many thanks.

They may wait, it may depend on the assessor.
You can request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, this should indicate whether the report was included or not. If it appears not to have been then you can request a copy of the letter from your GP practice and providing that it is supportive send it to the DWP directly.

If it is two weeks since the assessment then you can request it now, I thought from your posts that the GP had not completed their report yet!
I would contact your GP Surgery about a copy of the report.

thanks gordon, yes its been 2 weeks since my assessment and 1 week since my dr completed the form they sent him so they should have received it by now, i would prefer to get a copy of the gp report from the dwp as i would probably be charged £20 by gp secretary and they have had enough £20 off me lately for home visit and support letters etc. so hopefully i will be sent a copy from dwp. i have posted them my request today how long will they take to send the information gordon.

It's up to you but it does assume that they actually have the report, but if they don't then you can then go to your Surgery.
