UC and ESA. was created by Chrissiefeeny
Hi there..
Can you apply for ESA if you are in a full UC area or is it called by a different name?
Also, if you have Sick notes, can you be paid for the time off or do you have to go through a full assessment before they will pay you?

If you are in a UC Full Service area, then you can apply for New Style ESA if you are able to make a Contribution Based claim or UC for an Income Related one or both.

You will be paid the ESA assessment rate for a New Style ESA claim and the applicable UC rate minus any New Style ESA dependant on your circumstances until your are assessed and then if awarded, the applicable rates.
