Whilst the majority of PIP awards are reassessed using the AR1 Review form, short term award and some awards made at Tribunal receive a new PIP2 form to complete, so it's not a change in policy, more a variation.
Be aware that there have been some changes to the PIP activities and the guidance so make sure that you make use of the latest PIP Claim guide.

Ann Laver wrote: After using Benefits & Work guides to help with my appeal and tribunal when moving from DLA to PIP I was finally awarded the Standard rate of Mobility Component for 2 years to June 2018. I was assuming I would receive an "Award Review" form as per the guide but instead have received a letter saying I need to "decide if I want to claim again". I have now had to claim again from scratch. Is this a change of policy as this seems to be at odds with the information I have found on this website. Have others received an Award Review or is everyone having to claim again from scratch.
Hi you had what they call a Short fixed term award, (SFT) with or without a PIP Award Review, these can be
for a minimum of 9 months and up to a maximum of two years.
So what happens in this case you will have to fill out a full PIP2 form from scratch.
PIPCS automatically issues an ‘end of award’ notification to the claimant (or
appointee if appropriate) 14 weeks before the end of award.
As yours was only 2 years they diden't apply a review date, so it will end and you'll need to re-apply again.
I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

When they initially turned my claim down they said I could not claim again for 3 years as my condition would not change within that time, yet when I finally received it 6 months later after the tribunal they said it would only be for 2 years (back dated) as my condition was likely to change within that time! Just feel that they are playing around with me. So cruel.
