Hello. The report says that some claimants may get money back for not being assessed for income related esa.
How do you find out whether you are one of these people?
Surely you don't just wait and see if you are one of the lucky ones.
Thank you for your help.

Were you transferred from Incapacity Benefit to ESA?

Were you eligible for Income Related ESA at that time? ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

Asset and savings rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

The DWP are reviewing all conversion claims so you should not need to contact them, they will contact you.

Hello. Whilst I am on here, can I ask about my ESA payment that I receive. Is it a normal thing that when they send you a letter each April saying it's going up, that your actual amount doesn't change?
Thank you.

Yes you should receive an annual Entitlement Letter, although your payments may not change, the amount of ESA you receive will increase and any Transitional Payment will reduce by a similar amount.
