I am in receipt of DLA and got the transfer form. I suffer from Bi Polar mixed affective disorder, social phobia as well as physical ailments, though it is the former that got me DLA. I manage my condition myself with the aid of my partner, no CMHT etc. As I had not been in contact with my doctor ( who I did not find helpful really) I had no up to date medical evidence to support my form. I therefore de4cided to opt for a private psychatrist to examine me. He was very good ( I suppose they all are if you are paying) He additionally diagnosed ADHD and has produced a very full report which says I need help with the pointers on the form ( which I do) and I am at high risk of self neglect. Now I am a worrier !!! I am thinking will the DWP think this is not factual cos I paid for it ? He woud not give false information he is a well qualified man......but from the posts i read the DWP can be nasty.
