Recording PIP assessment

Ive had a call today and my PIP assessment is a fortnight today.
Following appalling report from an ESA assessment a few years ago I want to record this -which their notes say I can do -but it has to be a cd or cassette recording (not mp3) and I have to make 2 of them which I leave one with them -so this menas I need 2 devices.
Has anyone done this and if so what devices did you use, where did you obtain them and where from, was the quality actually useable and where did you place the device in order to make sure the recording was good quality. Approx cost would also be helpful.

1. Did you buy the BUSH Portable Cassette Player (504/5864) @ £17.99?
2. Which tapes did you use and where did you buy them?
3. Did you need to buy separate microphones for the cassette recorders?
4. Did you need to stop the interview to turn the tape over?
5. Did you have any help setting up the equipment and making the recording?
6. Did you have to plug the recorders into the mains or were you allowed to power the recorders using batteries?
Apologies for the many questions but this information could really help those of us undergoing PIP F2F interviews. It might ensure that any decision is based on what we actually said at an interview and make the difference between receiving an award or not. Any further info appreciated.

Spectralis wrote: Thanks for that info, da. That seems very straight forward and relatively inexpensive. Even I could probably manage that. If the DWP accept that equipment in one PIP assessment center then perhaps we could argue for the right to do the same in others? I wonder if B&W or another disability support service could test this solution to see if it can be used universally?
Claimants can record any PIP assessment at any centre providing they use suitable equipment to do so and obtain permission in advance.
