Bought two Bush cassette recorders from Argos on ebay. Tested both and one would not record, other not play back, worked first time then not.
Returned and refunded.
A reviewer on that site states the old Bush recorders are fine but new version (they look identical) unreliable and worse sound. It seems one can't choose which one one is buying either at Argos itself or Argos on eBay, I've asked. They do have different 'codes' but the reviewer states that the old ones have the Bush name place centrally whilst the new ones have it to the right hand side, but if you can't choose which one then luck of the draw anyway.
Since I returned them I notice the code number has now been changed to the new recorder's code.
Decided not to risk again so bought 2x Steepletone recorders from Amazon. They seem okay for the job esp if sound turned up but as with Bush some cassette noise. About the same price. Just used the inbuilt condenser mic.
Hope that may be of help

Hi Gillian

I recorded my PIP assessment last November, like you my ATOS report was full of porkies !

I was awarded nothing so I went for Mandatory Review (confident they would change their minds because of the recording)

After M/R I was still awarded nothing ! So I appealed and sent off my form of appeal (ssc1 or what ever it is)

A few weeks later (march 2018) I got a call from a DWP case manager saying they had looked again at my case and awarded me lower rate for both,

I refused and said seeing as I have sent off all my appeal papers I would rather see it through and go to appeal,

The waiting list is still 32 weeks from today !

I realise at appeal I could end up with nothing but when he made the offer (lower/lower) I was told if I wanted to appeal against that I could but would have to start from scratch !

I thought sod that :D
