Pip assessment was created by Libby
I was supposed to have a pip assessment on the 17 may after sending in my ar1 review form ,but I received a new appointment for the 29th may as the say the other date had been overbooked ? . I received a phone call from the oil assessment centre today asking me if I was going to attend my assessment next Tuesday and did I know how to find the centre ect ? , . Has anyone else had one of these pre assessment phone calls ? I don't know if this is standard practice now or are they trying to find out if I can plan and follow through a journey ? . needless to say I was dreading this assessment in the first place but now I'm a complete mess and stressed out completely .

It's not something we hear often but I have heard of this before, I doubt very much that they are trying to ascertain whether you can plan and follow a route, after all, what if someone takes you to the appointment?

Thankyou Gordon .
I did tell the person who rang me that I have difficulty with directions and ability to locate a destination and that my husband would be taking me ,so hopefully it was simply a inquiry about my intention to attend the assessment ? . But I'm naturally suspicious of the dwp in general these days ,.

Hi Libby
I can understand your suspicions of DWP as are many others. I had a PIP assessment in April and was surprised when they called me to remind me I had an assessment, this was the same day of the appointment, about 3 hours before. Like you I was suspicious was it a trick. Anyway I found out this week I had been awarded standard rate PIP for care and low rate mobility so don't worry about them calling you and good luck with your assessment.

Hi mark
I had my review pip assessment last week and needless to say it was extremely stressful and although the health professional doing the assessment seemed very nice on the surface ,the questions were more like a police interview that a health assessment . I cried most of the way the through it as some of the questions were extremely personal and embarrassing . I have no idea of the likely outcome ,but I will post the decision from dwp as soon as I receive it ,I was told it would be roughly a 4 week wait ? .
