You should be able to get a two week extension without problem, further extensions will require the agreement of a DM and are not given very frequently, so ask early if you need a further one.

I couldn't do anything yesterday either. I rang today and they gave me a 2 week extension.

I don't believe it. I got ESA50 in the post today. Due 22 August. Can we ask for an extension for that too?
I am still struggling with my PIP form. I've roughly answered all the questions, now I need to go back and tidy it up.

I'm afraid there are no extensions allowed for the completion of the ESA50, you must return it by the required date. If you are struggling to do this then my advise would be to return a partially completed form on time and then update it with more information as soon as you can,

By the way, it was a white envelope! 
I was puzzled when I got it, then I just thought maybe it's about the medical for PIP. Huge shock when I opened it. Took me a few minutes to take it in.
